a leaf and an insect

“Nature will bear the closest inspection. She invites us to lay our eye level with her smallest leaf, and take an insect view of its plain.” – Henry David Thoreau

at mommy's garden

Mom's garden has such a therapeutic vibe in it. I don't know, it could be the positive energy coming from  the vibrant and flourishing plants or maybe... the believers in supernatural creatures are right, there are good elves thriving in the garden, taking care of and keeping it healthy. Why not? *wink*

It's just funny though that one time, while mom was watering the plants, I told her,
Mom, your plants are full of zest whenever you provide them water.

And she replied,
Of course, I am like their mom too and I have to take care of them. When I do, they become livelier.

My mom is indeed like a mom to all the plants in her garden. Or maybe, she's more than a mom to them as she tends to them early in the morning and right after when she finishes her work. (Do I have the tone of a jealous daughter? Uhm, not exactly!) Anyhow, the result of her tender, loving care for the plants is a perfect ambience to relax our minds when we want to be alone or to add a nature-like feel when mom and dad set the place up for breakfast or dinner when all the kids are home.

And just now, I came to take beautiful photos of plants from mom's garden. Happy and proud of the unfiltered pictures. Enjoy the snapshots :)

fluffy lil kiddo

My dear godson Carlos used to be so little. The first time I saw him, he looked so fragile I felt so scared to hold him. Nevertheless, he looked so adorable I could pinch his cheeks forever!

Photo grabbed from Janie's instagram account
And some more months later...

The fluffy lil kiddo's charm has become more evident. And I just can't get enough of him!

I am such a blissful god mom :)

off to The Ruins

The Ruins should not be missed when one takes a quick side-trip to Bacolod City.

How to get there is just quick and easy. Trust me :)

From Bacolod City, ride a jeepney with "Bata-Libertad" route. The fare costs Php8 per passenger. Don't forget to inform the driver that you are going to The Ruins. One landmark to remember is Pepsi Bottling Plant. After just a few minutes of  your swift jeepney ride, the chauffeur will then drop you off at the street going to Goldcrest Village (in Barangay Bata). After which, take a tricycle and tell the driver to bring you to The Ruins. The fun ride costs Php50.

For a quick history of the mansion, go to this link: Mansion’s tale told–with dose of humor
It appears as a naked mansion but certainly it is a place which is fully clad with memories that are mostly bittersweet.

So happy to have our fresh guyabano smoothies :)

My travel stories from last year are so long overdue, I know. I have my excuses, for sure --  I was so busy getting to know myself even more, accomplishing some goals and unfinished business(es) and spending wonderful moments with awesome people. Hence, I thought  "oh well, blogging could wait".

But now, am saying "hello again" to blogging :) I am now energized and ready to share wonderful stories and reflections from my travel experiences.

Cheers! :)

Sometimes comets are thought to be lost,
and then they come back into orbit
and when their calculated scientists find
they weren't lost at all.

They're found.
