Haven't got enough sleep --must be my cousin's surprise visit as he is leaving the country soon for work. Instead of feeling touched and sentimental about it because he took a bit of his time to see me before he takes off, I felt something distinctive but I couldn't find the exact emotion to describe it.

I have maintained my hermit persona until now. While talking to him, I felt like I was brought back to the ugly picture of our family tree and how I have tried to prevent myself from even peeking at it.

I must substitute this feeling soon.
I prefer to be distant, more distant.

This is how I escape and I prefer to keep it this way.

Charlie: I don't know if I will have the time to write anymore letters because I might be too busy trying to participate. So if this does end up being the last letter I just want you to know that I was in a bad place before I started high school and you helped me. Even if you didn't know what I was talking about or know someone who has gone through it, you made me not feel alone. Because I know there are people who say all these things don't happen. And there are people who forget what it's like to be 16 when they turn 17. I know these will all be stories someday. And our pictures will become old photographs. We'll all become somebody's mom or dad. But right now these moments are not stories. This is happening, I am here and I am looking at her. And she is so beautiful. I can see it. This one moment when you know you're not a sad story. You are alive, and you stand up and see the lights on the buildings and everything that makes you wonder. hitting the waves '10

A couple of years ago, we literally hit the waves: no rashguard, no surfboard, no surf instructor! Finally this year, we made it to the beach again. This time we were ready. :)

As this was my third time to catch some waves, I wondered, "what's next?". Nevertheless, I opted to take the beginner lesson again and enjoyed the rides (I had lots of 'em). The huge waves were the most challenging. They literally hit me hard that I had to have a strong grip on the board or else I'd fall. The thrill was way more intense than those you get in amusement park rides. hahaha
